The iEV 22kW Solar Smart Charger offers three charging modes, giving EV owners the flexibility to prioritize charging speed, continuous charging, or solar energy.
1. FAST Mode — Charge as Quickly as Possible
FAST Mode charges the EV at the maximum charging current the user sets. It does not prioritize solar or grid power; instead, it uses available power sources to deliver the selected charging current.
Best for: When you need to charge your EV quickly.
2. ECO Mode — Solar First, Grid Support
ECO Mode uses as much available solar power as possible, using grid power when needed to maintain the minimum 6 A charging current required by most car manufacturers.
For example:
2 A solar + 4 A grid = 6 A charging
5 A solar + 1 A grid = 6 A charging
16 A solar + 0 A grid = 16 A charging
Best for: Everyday charging while maximizing solar self-consumption.
3. ECO+ Mode — Maximum Solar Priority
ECO+ Mode allows the user to set the minimum grid current from 0–5 A, controlling how much grid power can be used before charging starts.
Scenario 1: Minimum grid current set to 0 A. This provides solar-only charging:
2 A solar + 0 A grid → No charging
6 A solar + 0 A grid → 6 A charging
10 A solar + 0 A grid → 10 A charging
Scenario 2: Minimum grid current set to 4 A
1 A solar + 4 A grid → No charging
3 A solar + 3 A grid → 6 A charging
10 A solar + 0 A grid → 10 A charging
Best for: Users who want greater control over solar utilization and grid consumption.
FAST = Charge fast.
ECO = Keep charging with solar first.
ECO+ = Control grid use and prioritize solar.
